The station, located on the Challans to La Roche-Sur-Yon route, is targeting commercial customers with high-volume hydrogen needs, offering a refuelling capacity of up to 800kg per day.
Brétéché is aiming to develop a hydrogen ecosystem in conjunction with Lhyfe and open other refuelling stations in various departments close to Lhyfe’s future production plants.
The hydrogen refuelling station in Vendee was recently commissioned by McPhy Energy, with Brétéché operating the dual pressure hydrogen station suitable for 350 and 700 bar vehicles.
Eric Hidier, CEO of Brétéché, said, “Our world is undergoing dramatic changes which require us to reassess our manners of producing and consuming for the years to come.
“We will need to be prepared to work differently, protecting resources and the environment. At Brétéché, we are convinced the only long-term decarbonisation solution, with a short supply chain and zero emissions, is decarbonised hydrogen.”
Matthieu Guesné, Founder and CEO of Lhyfe, added, “We need other plays like them (Brétéché) that are action-oriented, with a strong business culture, and aware of the need to change and change fast, and to unite mobility players around hydrogen. The first privately-owned station strengthens the dynamics of the Vendée hydrogen ecosystem.”
H2 View caught up with Lhyfe’s CEO in August, who insisted that it can’t be a few companies that will invest and take the risks in hydrogen to accelerate the transition, it will take lots.
