Czech Republic-headquartered Doosan Škoda Power is to supply a new steam turbine to a combined-cycle cogeneration power plant in Zagreb, Croatia.
Doosan Škoda supplied a similar turbine for the plant in 2006 and for the new contract it will also supply the turbine set accessories including the generator and control system.
Václav Waldmann, project engineer at Doosan Škoda Power, explained: “The heat from the steam turbine is fed to one controlled heat supply duct and to two hot water heaters. While process steam will be used for industrial needs, the heat from the heaters will also be used for district heating in Zagreb.”
The €123m ($136m) EL-TO Zagreb power plant project is co-financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021.
