The U.S. exported wood pellets to more than a dozen countries in September. The U.K. was the top destination for U.S. wood pellets at 495,640 metric tons, followed by Japan at 146,157.3 metric tons and the Netherlands at 47,333.5 metric tons.
The value of U.S wood pellet exports was at $147.53 million in September, down from $183.07 million the previous month, but up from $143.2 million in September 2022.
Total wood pellet exports for the first nine months of 2023 reached 7.04 million metric tons at a value of $1.3 billion, compared to 6.63 million metric tons exported during the same period of 2022 at a value of $1.15 billion.
