We had reported previously on the plan of Menderes Geothermal for a geothermal exploration drilling activity related to this project. It is planned to excavate the AS25 (DORA-5) geothermal production wells, which were planned together with the AS23 and AS24 production wells, for which the “EIA Not Required Decision” was previously determined, at depths of approximately ~1,000-1,100 m.
Expected temperature and flow values are in the range of approximately ~170°C and ~55 lt/sec. It is stated in PTD that “ASR17 and ASR18 Re-Injection wells are planned to be at depths of approximately ~1,000-1,100 m” and that two reinjection wells are currently planned within the scope of the project.
DORA-5 is planned to produce 19.8 MWe of electricity using ORC power plant technology. The Project Cost is estimated to be 150,000,000 TL (approx. USD 5.26 million).
The Dora-1, Dora-2, Dora-3A, Dora-3B, and Dora-4 geothermal power facilities, operated by Menderes Geothermal, continue to produce electricity at a total installed capacity of 74 MWe. The 8.5-MWe Dora-1 power plant, which started operating in 2006, is considered the first geothermal power plant in Türkiye to be developed by private investment.
