Chinese E-bus Giant Considers Investing in Poland

Electromobility in Poland is constantly developing, and zero-emission buses from the Middle Kingdom can accelerate this process. Yutong wants to contribute and has a rich offer and considerable production capabilities.

Today in Warsaw the Chinese bus Yutong U18 was presented. Busnex Poland, the official representative of Yutong in Poland, stressed that so far 113 electric buses have been contracted for 20 local governments from 8 provinces. The company hopes that China’s zero-emission buses will soon be recognized by other local governments.

“One model of the Yutong Bus already runs in Warsaw as part of the MZK. Warsaw has the longest lines of electric buses. The Yutong U18 can cover up to 400 km on a single charge. The bus can accommodate up to 120 passengers. Our design is very safe, because with nitrogen we are able to extinguish battery fires in case of an emergency,” says Marcin Kucharski, president of Busnex Poland.

“We are considering the construction of a bus factory in Poland, but I think the most realistic scenario is the construction of an assembly plant,” Kucharski said, answering BiznesAlert.pl’s question about the possibility of building a bus factory in the country.

Chinese manufacturer Yutong Bus is the largest global supplier of buses and coaches, with a 15% share in the global market. The company also produces electric, hybrid, hydrogen and conventional buses for more cities on all continents, including Europe.

Yutong is also the largest supplier of electric buses to the European market and is the world’s best-selling Green Energy Bus brand. In 2022, it recorded almost 12,000 contracted zero-and low-emission vehicles, and in total it has already delivered more than 170,000 buses.
