90% of electricity is generated by hydropower plants in Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Energy Talaibek Ibraev told a press conference devoted to results of work of energy system for 11 months.
This makes around 12 billion kWh, he said.
Electricity consumption will make 17.4 billion kWh this year. Production of electricity will make 14 billion kWh.
As of November 1, Kyrgyzstan has produced 11.9 billion kWh of electricity.
1.9 billion kWh of electricity are generated by combined heat and power plants. The planned import of electricity will make 3.2 billion kWh.
The volume of production of electricity remains almost unchanged since 2014. It remains at 14 billion kWh level. Consumption of electricity exceeds 17 billion kWh.
"We do not have changes in generation of electricity since 2014. New plants were not built yet," Minister Ibraev said.
