Trinity Structures, a Costco electrification partner, announced the successful deployment of its off-grid electrified solar structures for Costco’s electric vehicle (EV) fleet at its largest distribution center in Mira Loma, CA.

The project was finished in four months, including design, construction, and deployment, a fact that Trinity highlighted and compared to other projects that can sometimes take up to two years to complete.

Fleet owners grappling with growing state and federal regulations, programs like California’s WAIRE Program, often wrestle with protracted timelines of electric infrastructure development, grid capacity limitations, and delay in grid-tied infrastructure, Trinity said, leading to demand for integrated electrified structures.

As part of its Climate Action Plan, Costco has committed to converting depot yard trucks from diesel models to alternative fuel models by 2035 and expanding on-site solar operations where feasible. To help meet its business and operational needs, Costco sought an end-to-end electrification partner to overcome these challenges.

Trinity’s electrified structures are integrated modular ecosystems that create energy with solar power, convert energy with inverters and batteries, and conduct energy through EV charging or backup power.
