In December 2023, the Nordex Group received three orders from Scotland for a total of around 150 MW. The company will supply and install seven N149/5.X wind turbines for one wind farm and another seven of the same type of wind turbine along with two N133/4.8 wind turbines will be used for a second 50 MW wind farm in the region. The third and final wind farm will be made up of eleven N149/5.X wind turbines that will also be supplied and installed by the Nordex Group.
The names of the clients and the wind farms are not disclosed.
All wind farms will be built in the north of Scotland by 2026. The Nordex Group will install the turbines on steel tube towers with hub heights of between 83 and 125 metres.
The Group has installed more than 44 GW of wind energy capacity in more than 40 markets and in 2022 generated revenues of €5.7 billion. The company currently has a staff of approx. 9,000. Joint manufacturing capacity includes factories in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States, India and Mexico. The product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines from class 4 to 6.X MW, which are tailored to the market requirements of countries with limited space and regions with limited grid capacity.
