Japan’s Toyo Engineering Corporation and Medco Power Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on geothermal projects in the Southeast Asian nation.
Geothermal power, as a renewable energy, has a huge potential including production of green fuel and is the key for a carbon neutral society, noted Toyo. To fully utilise this potential, Toyo and Medco will promote a joint study on the opportunity of developing the full potential of geothermal energy and “contribute to the realisation of sustainable society and the economic development in Indonesia”, added the Japanese company.
The duo are no strangers to working together.
Medco Cahaya Geothermal earlier awarded Indonesia’s Inti Karya Persada Tehnik (IKPT), a subsidiary of Toyo, and compatriot Multi Fabrindo Gemilang a contract for the construction of a geothermal power plant project in Indonesia.
