On February 28, 2024, the company inked a shipbuilding agreement with CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding for the construction of four 210,000 dwt ammonia dual-fuel bulk carriers.
The Capesize Newcastlemaxes are scheduled for delivery in 2027, according to data provided by VesselsValue.
The second deal covers two 111,000 dwt liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel LR2 oil tankers that will be constructed at CSSC Guangzhou Shipbuilding International.
“These are pivotal for EPS, testament to our continued commitment towards the decarbonisation of shipping,” EPS said.
The order for the bulker quartet featuring ammonia dual-fuel propulsion technology was first revealed by brokers in January 2024. It has been now confirmed with contract signing.
Across three core segments of containership, dry bulk, and tanker vessels, EPS’s managed fleet encompasses around 250 vessels of which 74 are dual-fueled.
