The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process has been initiated for a planned geothermal project by Majestik Turizm Kuyumculuk (Majeztik Turizm) ve Tic. A.S. in the municipality of Urla in Izmir, Türkiye. The project proposes the drilling of a single geothermal well for tourism purposes.

The announcement of the start of the EIA process was made by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change and the Izmir Governorship.

Majeztik Turism has applied for a geothermal drilling license at a 290-ha area in Urla within the boundary of the Altinkoy neighborhood. The planned drilling location is around 11 kilometers south of the Urla district center, in an area with residences and seasonal summer houses.

Within the scope of the license, the proposed geothermal well will be drilled to a depth of 300 meters where water at around 30-35 °C is expected.

Another geothermal project had previously also started the EIA process in the Urla municipality. RSC Elektrik has proposed the drilling of three geothermal boreholes, potentially for geothermal power production.
