Rehabilitation of the Uch-Kurgan hydropower plant is financed by the Asian Development Bank.
The overall capacity of the Uch-Kurgan HPP makes 180 MW (4 units with 45 MW capacity each).
Rehabilitation of the hydropower plant will enhance its reliable operation and uninterrupted electricity supplies. The capacity of the plant will be increased, operational and repair costs will be reduced.
Repair of the unit will be finished by November 16, 2024.
The Uch-Kurgan hydropower plant is the first plant of the chain of hydropower plants on the Naryn River. It was launched in 1962.
Equipment and infrastructure of the hydropower plant was not repaired since its launch. The life service of the plant expired in 1992. Equipment of the plant are worn out and are in dilapidated condition.RELATED
