TotalEnergies began restarting several units at its 230,000 barrel per day (bpd) Donges refinery on France's Atlantic coast following maintenance works on Thursday, the company said in an online statement.
The refinery had undergone a full shutdown on March 1 for maintenance works to repair a leak, among other issues, according to data from industry monitor IIR.
The French oil major said the restart operations could cause increased flaring and noise pollution in the coming days.
It had previously warned of potentially unpleasant odours in the area on Feb. 28-29 and March 1-3 related to the maintenance works.
