Thermosoft is a software that combines thermodynamic calculations, heat transfer and fluid mechanics modeling methods with artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in all heat-based power plants, especially geothermal power plants. A product of 5 years of intensive development work, this innovative software aims to optimize the operational processes of power plants and use their resources more effectively and efficiently.
While Thermosoft performs 24/7 instantaneous thermodynamic and heat transfer calculations of power plants, it also aims to provide continuous performance optimization by thermodynamic modeling of the power plant. Thermosoft creates both statistical models by constantly monitoring the data of the power plant and unique performance curves of power plants using different artificial intelligence and machine learning methods. This software, in addition to increased efficiency, also provides early fault detection and realistic daily, weekly, and monthly energy production estimates.
During the signing ceremony, Dr. Murat Karada?, founder of GMK Energy, stated the following regarding the cooperation agreement: “Thermosoft is a technological software containing artificial intelligence, where our 15 years of experience in the geothermal energy sector is blended with our academic background. We have allocated a serious budget to this software for the last 5 years and concentrated as a team, and even established Thermosoft LLP start-up company in England. Thermosoft LLP aims to increase the efficiency of all geothermal power plants on a global scale with instant monitoring and to make the plant management autonomous in a single center in the coming years.”
Mr. Kubilay Çevik, Member of the Board of Directors of Çevik Group Companies, to which Be?tepeler Enerji is affiliated, emphasized that the Thermosoft agreement is an important step towards their company’s sustainable energy production targets and said, “We believe that the company’s effectiveness in energy production will increase with Thermosoft being used in Kubilay JES”.
Touching on the importance of R&D studies, Mr. Kubilay Çevik stated that Turkish Engineering should be made more known with such projects that will set an example to the world, and that they are happy to be a part of the R&D studies that will ensure the development of the sector.
GMK Energy’s CEO Mr. Selçuk Il?kcan said: “Developing products based on innovation is a challenging task that requires significant resources and time. As GMK Energy, we have been preparing for this for a long time. With the agreement we signed today, we have crossed a crucial threshold. We would like to express our gratitude to Be?tepeler Enerji for their trust in our company and technology.”
“As GMK Energy, we will globally introduce the technologies we develop in Turkey through the companies we establish in the UK with our international partners. Thermosoft is our first company on this path, with others to follow. Türkiye holds a significant position in the global geothermal sector in terms of energy production and engineering. Our goal at GMK Energy is to take this a step further and position Türkiye among the leading countries providing technology in the geothermal sector.”
GMK Energy had recently been awarded the contract for the “TR33 Region Geothermal Water Management Plan Project” to execute a basin-based evaluation of geothermal potential in the geothermal fields in the TR33 Region which which consists of Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Manisa and Usak provinces.
