Global renewable energy developer BayWa r.e. signed a memorandum of understanding with paper manufacturer Hankuk Paper to develop a 60-megawatt onshore wind project in the South Korean province of Gyeonsanbuk-do.
In a statement, BayWa r.e. South Korea Managing Director YangHo Bae said the partnership will contribute not only to the country’s energy transition but also to Hankuk Paper’s sustainable energy outlook.
"To Hankuk Paper who pursues its vision as a global eco-friendly company, this agreement is meaningful not only in that it contributes to the growth of the domestic eco-friendly energy industry, but also in that Haesung Group, including Hankuk Paper, have the opportunity to meet the growing demand for clean energy in the future,” said Hankuk Paper CEO Jae Ho Ahn.
BayWa r.e. Launched in South Korea in 2019 to pursue onshore and offshore wind and solar project development with a current pipeline of over one gigawatt.
