12 Jun 2024  by Rosatom
Isotope JSC (Rosatom’s scientific division) sent the first shipment of lutetium-177 produced by a company of Rosatom to the People's Republic of China.

“The supply of Russian-produced lutetium-177 opens up new opportunities for cooperation with our Chinese partners. We hope that it will allow us to increase trade turnover between our countries in the future,” said Maxim Kushnarev, Director General of Isotope JSC.

Lutetium-177 is one of the most promising radionuclides. There are already Lutetium-177-based radiopharmaceuticals registered and used in the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors and prostate cancer. Developments are also underway in a wide range of nosologies (breast cancer, lung cancer, myeloid diseases, skin cancer, kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer, thyroid cancer, colon cancer, etc.).

With Rosatom’s medical radioisotope products, it is possible to carry out about 2.5 million diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Russia and abroad. Using radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostics helps identify diseases and begin therapy at an early stage.
