Floating Power Plant, a technology developer in renewable energy solutions, announced a significant milestone in its flagship demonstrator project located off the coast of Gran Canaria. The company has acquired a Wind Turbine Generator from Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, marking a pivotal step forward in the project's progression.

CEO Anders Køhler expressed his satisfaction, stating:

"Securing the wind turbine generator is a pivotal milestone for our project. This acquisition underscores our commitment to driving sustainable energy innovation.”

The selected wind turbine, a powerful 4.3 MW SWT-DD-120, fits Floating Power Plant's requirements for a proven, reliable, and well-established technology.

The demonstrator platform, positioned at the PLOCAN-site in the Canary Isles, is meticulously designed to meet local requirements and conditions. Engineers at Floating Power Plant are dedicated to tailoring all equipment for optimal performance in this unique environment.

Laura Volta Roqueta, Senior Wind Turbine Engineer at Floating Power Plant, emphasized the turbine's suitability, stating,

"It is precisely what we need for this project. This wind turbine generator aligns with the site requirements, and its direct-drive technology is a perfect fit for our demonstrator platform."

The Wind Turbine Generator will play a crucial role in Floating Power Plant's full-scale demonstrator project, showcasing an unprecedented integration of wind power, wave power, and hydrogen storage technologies.

Recently, the project received a substantial grant of 26 million euros from the EU Innovation Fund, highlighting its significance in advancing the European Union's clean energy goals.
