A brief joint press release on Monday said the pair signed a development service agreement (DSA) to develop the portfolio, consisting of five BESS projects. No other details were provided.
“This collaboration represents a significant step forward in our mission to develop innovative battery storage projects both in Italy and globally, further demonstrating our efforts to expand our BESS business,” commented Emeren Group CEO Yumin Liu.
Emeren’s more recent moves in the Italian BESS market include co-development agreements with UK fund manager Nuveen Infrastructure, formerly Glennmont Partners, for a total of 354 MW of projects across Italy.
Emeren is also delivering BESS projects to Matrix Renewables under a DSA from June 2023 involving up to 1.5 GW of batteries in Italy.
