Kazakhstan Plans to Increase Gas Transit to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China

Kazakhstan plans to increase the transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the transit of Turkmen and Uzbek gas to China this year, Vlast.kz reports, citing Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev.

"The transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan was launched in October 2023. 1.28 billion cubic meters were transported in 2023. We plan to transport 3.8 billion cubic meters this year with a further increase to 11 billion cubic meters per year," Satkaliyev said during a government meeting.

According to him, "sustainable growth" is observed in the transit of Turkmen and Uzbek gas to China. Satkaliyev added that Kazakhstan plans to increase transit to 37.1 billion cubic meters this year. The increase of transit to China will be +1.5 billion cubic meters.

In addition, the issue of increasing the transit of Russian gas to Kyrgyzstan is under discussion, the Minister noted.
