Aspen Power Completes 25.5 MW DC of Solar Projects in Pennsylvania

US distributed generation platform Aspen Power has completed six solar projects with a combined direct current capacity of 25.5 MW in Pennsylvania which represent the first half of a local portfolio acquired last year from Sunrise Energy.

Equipped with American-made components, the new solar farms co-developed by Aspen and Sunrise are expected to produce up to 37 GWh of clean electricity in the first year, enough to meet the power needs of 5,100 local homes.

Aspen bought 42 MW DC of solar projects in Pennsylvania from Sunrise in May 2023 as part of a broader development agreement. The company’s overall Pennsylvania portfolio includes more than 145 MW of completed or contracted solar projects.

“Being able to commission projects in the Keystone State is a key element of supporting a sustainable future for all and achieving our goal of gigawatt-scale in the coming years,” said Dan Gulick, senior vice president of community solar at Aspen Power.
