Vestas has received an order for 99 MW from OX2 for an undisclosed wind energy project in Romania. Vestas will deliver 16 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines. The order also includes the supply, delivery and commissioning of the wind turbines.

Upon completion, Vestas will service the turbines under a 35-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement designed to ensure optimized performance of the assets.

“We are delighted to announce this project which is testament to the successful collaboration we have fostered with our partner OX2 for almost two decades. This collaboration has led to impactful wind energy projects in numerous countries in the Nordics and Europe,” says Taras Kachmarchuk, Vestas Sales Director for Southeast Europe. “This project in the revitalized Romanian market brings our capacity of wind turbines installed or under construction in Romania to more than 1.5 GW.”

Delivery of the turbine is expected to begin in the second half of 2025 and commissioning is planned for the first half of 2026.
