Recurrent Energy, a unit of Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ:CSIQ), and its UK joint venture partner Windel Energy have secured planning permission for their proposal to install a 9.9-MW solar farm in the Welsh town of Talbot Green, according to a press release.
Construction of the project is expected to be a six-month programme, located at a site comprising several agricultural fields, the companies said on Thursday.
The solar farm will be connected the Talbot Green substation at Ynysmaerdy. The detailed design of the connection is being agreed with the distribution network operator, and the plan is to connect the solar farm in 2025.
Talbot Green is the third Windel-Recurrent project to receive planning permission this year. They previously secured the green light for the 200-MW Harker battery and the 350-MW Mallard Pass solar project.
