Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – In the first half of 2024, Iraq exported more than 46 million barrels of crude oil to the US, according to a report released on Wednesday by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The EIA mentioned that Iraq exported about 8.6 million barrels of oil to the US during June, up from 8.46 million barrels in May, Shafaq News reported.
OPEC’s crude oil exports to the United States during the first half of 2024 reached almost 227.16 million barrels, with Saudi Arabia leading the greatest rate of exports to the US, totaling approximately 69.46 million barrels during the same period.
In recent years, Iraq’s oil supplies to the US have grown dramatically, hitting record highs in some months. This is partially due to the growing demand for oil throughout the world and Iraq’s capacity to enhance its oil production.
In addition to supplying energy to the US and the rest of the world, the Iraqi-US oil trade relationship is crucial to the development of the two countries’ economic ties. It also helps to stabilize the world’s oil market.
