The OL2 outage began on Sept. 9 due to an increase in moisture detected in the turbine plant's generator.
"The issue has been identified as a fault in the rotor of the water-cooled generator," TVO said in a statement on Thursday.
OL2 has a nominal power capacity of 890 MW, and its electricity accounts for about 8% of the power used in Finland, it added.
The OL1 and OL3 units at Olkiluoto were operating normally, TVO said.
