Făget 3: 7.5 MWp Solar PV Power Plant | Image source: Photon Energy GroupPhoton Energy Engineering Romania has completed a 7.5MW solar PV plant and connected it to the Romanian grid.
The plant, located near Făget, covers 9.1 hectares and is equipped with 12,216 bifacial PV modules mounted on single-axis trackers. It will produce around 11.1GWh annually.
The project is Photon Energy’s third PV power plant in this location, with a total installed capacity of 14.6MWp.
The electricity generated at the Făget 3 PV power plant will be sold on the energy market on a merchant basis.

Photon Energy Group’s production portfolio now includes 100 solar power plants with a combined generation capacity of 140.3MWp and an additional 3.2MWp in Sărulești, Romania is currently being commissioned.
Romania has ambitious renewable energy targets and solar energy is becoming increasingly important, particularly in the southern regions of the country.
To reach its 2030 renewables target of 34%, Romania plans to add around 7GW of new capacity, of which around 3.7GW is intended to be PV solar projects.
To encourage development, Romanian authorities will grant a rebate of €750,000 ($835,000) per MW installed to PV projects with a power of 200KW to 1MW and of €425,000 ($473,000) per MW installed to solar arrays over 1MW.
Romania is also supporting rooftop PV deployment with a program called Casa Verde Fotovoltaice for residential solar installations under the national net metering regime.
