Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), the Association of Singapore Marine & Offshore Energy Industries (ASMI), and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to link Singapore with the global offshore wind sector and tap opportunities in the industry that is seen to grow more than 20% between 2022 to 2030.

Under the agreement, the parties will work on initiatives to expand the global offshore wind ecosystem, and fuel innovation to support the supply chain through policy development, network building and knowledge exchange, and capacity-building.

“Enterprise Singapore is committed to enable Singapore companies to tap on green growth opportunities like offshore wind, to grow our economy and create good jobs,” said Johnny Teo, assistant managing director, EnterpriseSG, adding that the agreement will expedite the company’s efforts by capitalising on Singapore's expanding offshore wind ecosystem.

"Singapore is uniquely placed and plays a key role in the region’s ecosystem, and we look forward to fostering international collaborations between stakeholders from across the offshore wind sector," said Stewart Mullin, chief industry officer, GWEC.

About 100 Singapore enterprises and 150 GWEC members in the offshore wind sector are expected to benefit from this as activities are rolled out over the next two years.

“By collaborating with key international partners like GWEC, we aim to drive innovation and open new avenues for Singaporean companies to participate in the offshore wind industry,” said Wilson Ang, executive director, ASMI.
