The 1.5 GW Baltica 2 is part of the 2.5 GW Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, which will also comprise the 1 GW Baltica 3.
The consortium of Semco Maritime and PTSC M&C is responsible for the engineering, procurement, and fabrication of four 375 MW offshore substation platforms and four module support frames for the Baltica 2 wind farm.
The primary structures will be fabricated at PTSC M&C’s yard in Vung Tau City. The first-cut ceremony marks the start of the fabrication process, which is expected to be completed in the first half of 2026.
Semco Maritime will design, procure, and install high- and medium-voltage, SCADA, and auxiliary systems supported by ISC Consulting Engineers and Hyundai Electric.
The four substations will be transported and installed by Seaway7 under a contract signed with PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna and Ørsted, the developers of the wind farm, in March 2024.
The project will be developed in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea between Łeba and Ustka, while the closest wind turbines to the shore will be at least 25 kilometres, according to the developers.
According to our previous news about the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, PGE and Ørsted are expected to reach the final investment decision (FID) on the project in the second half of this year.
