Neuman & Esser Unveils Major Expansion of Hydrogen Generator Facility in Brazil

12 Dec 2024

Neuman & Esser has significantly expanded its hydrogen generator manufacturing facility in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, increasing its production capabilities and reinforcing its commitment to the growing low-carbon hydrogen market in Latin America.

The expansion, making the new plant four times larger than the existing one, aims to boost the annual production capacity to 70 MW of containerized hydrogen generators, alongside enhanced production of industrial gas compressors.

Neuman & Esser, a pivotal player in the hydrogen energy sector, has recently inaugurated an expanded facility in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This new plant now spans an impressive 37,673 square feet (about 3500 square meters), significantly enhancing the company’s manufacturing capacity to up to 70 MW/year of containerized hydrogen generators. This development is part of a broader plan to augment the production of electrolyzers up to sevenfold from current figures.

Marcelo Veneroso, CEO of Neuman & Esser Brazil, emphasized the strategic expansion as a response to the evolving low-carbon hydrogen market in Brazil and across Latin America. "The capacity of the new facility is just the beginning. Our strengthening strategy covers four fronts of action: manufacturing of gas compressor units, grinding and classification systems for solid materials, hydrogen generators, and specialized services,” stated Veneroso.

The expansion was celebrated with a ceremony attended by notable guests including the Governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema Neto, and the German ambassador to Brazil, Bettina Cadenbach. This move not only solidifies Neuman & Esser Brasil's leadership in providing solutions for the energy transition but also underscores its dedication to sustainability and technological innovation in the energy sector.
