The project is part of Tennet’s "2 GW Programme", an initiative aimed at developing a new generation of HVDC grid connections to integrate 2 GW of offshore wind energy into the European electrical grid by 2031.
Operational activities, scheduled to take place between the end of Q1 and Q4 2025, will include the execution of a “Marine Route Survey”, an investigation required for the design of the cable connections that will enable the Doordewind wind area to deliver renewable energy generated at sea to the onshore grid. Specifically, Next Geosolutions will perform geophysical investigations and geotechnical sampling covering an area exceeding 21,000 hectares.
