19 Dec 2024

Grew Energy will supply PV modules for Jindal Renewable’s upcoming solar project to power steel production.

Grew Energy is set to supply 500 MW of PV modules for Jindal Renewable’s upcoming solar power project in Rajasthan. The company stated its research and development centre has designed these modules to ensure outstanding performance, effectively meeting the needs of commercial and industrial clients.

Jindal Renewable Power, a sister arm of Jindal Steel & Power, aims to develop around 12 GW of renewable energy assets by 2030 to supply RTC (round the clock) power to Jindal Steel & Power’s facilities. This will reduce around 7 million tonnes of CO2 emissions every year and significantly reduce Jindal Steel & Power’s carbon footprint.

Jindal Renewable Power is currently developing close to 3 GW of diverse renewable assets with power off-take completely locked in.

Bharat Saxena, President of Jindal Renewables, said, “This project [with Grew] aligns perfectly with our commitment to driving sustainability in the steel industry. Partnering with Grew for lower-emission steel production is just the beginning. There will be many more such initiatives as we continue to lead the way in adopting renewable energy solutions.”

Vinay Thadani, CEO and director of Grew Energy, said, “We are happy to collaborate with Jindal Renewables on this impactful project. Initiatives like this reinforce our vision to deliver cutting-edge products that all our partners find highly reliable.”

Founded in 2022, Grew is a renewable energy venture of Chiripal Group, one of the largest vertically integrated enterprises in India. The core business divisions of the Chiripal Group include textiles, education, petrochemicals, infrastructure, packaging, poly films apart from renewable energy.
