Hydrogen Council Welcomes Masdar, Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia to Its Board

19 Dec 2024

Masdar, Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia will become new board members of the Hydrogen Council from January 1, 2025.

The Council anticipates valuable insights into investment progress in the Middle East from Masdar, while Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia are expected to provide expertise in electrolyser technology and ammonia production.

In jointly welcoming the three new members, Jaehoon Chang, CEO of Hyundai and Sanjiv Lamba, CEO of Linde, and Co-Chairs of the Hydrogen Council, said the board will “work together as we guide the sector through a pivotal time for the energy transition.”

They added, “Hydrogen has made encouraging progress, with record levels of committed capital and projects past Final Investment Decision (FID) reported globally in 2024.

“However, over the next two years, regulatory stability, clear demand signals and global standardisation will be key to maintaining a robust scale-up trajectory and unlocking hydrogen’s full economic and societal benefits.”

Masdar, Siemens Energy and Yara Clean Ammonia will join Air Liquide, Anglo American, Cummincs and Toyota Motor Corporation, which have been re-elected for another term.

“I am delighted to see these strong new additions as well as a renewed commitment from our current Board members,” explained Ivana Jemelkova, CEO of the Hydrogen Council.

“In the last six months, we have put in place a robust plan for the Hydrogen Council’s next chapter focused on shaping the right environment for accelerated project execution and I look forward to delivering on it together with this stellar leadership team.”
