Awarded by an undisclosed green hydrogen plant developer in the EU, ITM will provide 10 NEPTUNE V units – a 5MW containerised electrolyser plant.
The FEED contract will support the project development ahead of a final investment decision (FID) which the customer expects to take in 2025.
H2 View understands that the plant is planned to start producing approximately 5,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually from the second half of 2027 to supply local industries.
“We are excited to have been selected as the technology partner for this project,” explained Dennis Schulz, ITM Power CEO.
“NEPTUNE V was only launched in May of this year, and this FEED confirms our view at the time that mid-sized green hydrogen projects would experience strong momentum in the near term.”
Last November, ITM Power reportedly validated an additional 40% iridium loading reduction in its electrolyser products, whilst “maintaining stack performance and longevity.”
The UK firm also announced it would sell a 5MW containerised PEM electrolyser to German technical and medial gases solution provider Guttroff earlier this year, for a Bavarian state-backed green hydrogen refuelling project.
The deal with Guttroff represented ITM’s first contract for its £4.35m ($5.5m) Neptune V unit.
