Iraq Surpasses Saudi Arabia in Weekly Oil Exports to US

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Saturday that Iraq was the second-largest oil exporter to the United States during the past week, surpassing Saudi Arabia.

The EIA mentioned that the average US imports of crude oil during the past week from nine major countries reached approximately 5.76 million barrels per day, representing a decline of 79,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week, when US oil imports reached 5.84 million barrels per day, Shafaq News reported.

Iraq’s oil exports to the United States reached 212,000 barrels per day last week, representing a decline of 17,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week, when Iraq exported 229,000 barrels per day to the US.

The EIA indicated that most of the United States imports of crude oil during the past week came from Canada at an average of 3.73 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico with an average of 551,000 barrels per day and Venezuela with an average of 353,000 barrels per day.

The United States imported an average of 289,000 barrels per day from Colombia, 280,000 barrels per day from Brazil, 189,000 barrels per day from Libya, 87,000 barrels per day from Saudi Arabia, and 71,000 barrels per day from Nigeria.
