The competitive round concerns the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the photovoltaic (PV) farm, Santo Domingo-based EGEPC said. The electricity producer, which will finance the project with its own resources, initiated the tender following a call for expressions of interest last February.
Technical and financial proposals will be accepted by February 17, 2025, and the final award is scheduled for March 24, 2025.
The Punta Catalina solar plant will be built to boost the efficiency of the existing thermal power station and to partly offset the greenhouse gas emissions from its operation. The capacity should be installed within 20 months.
“This project will not only increase the efficiency of our operations, but also reaffirms our commitment to sustainability and technological innovation,” said Celso Marranzini, executive vice president of EGEPC.
