The Green Hydrogen Summit 2025 reflects Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become a global hub for green hydrogen and its derivatives through innovation and investment, and is closely aligned with Abu Dhabi’s Low Carbon Hydrogen Policy and the UAE’s National Hydrogen Strategy 2050.
Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, said: “Green hydrogen is a critical pillar of the energy system transformation, opening pathways to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors and offering a powerful opportunity to accelerate progress towards net zero emissions targets. The UAE is committed to leading the development and deployment of this important technology and ADSW is at the intersection of new thinking and action, acting as a dynamic platform to bring together global leaders, industry experts, policymakers and investors. Together, we are translating bold commitments into impactful action and driving the rapid scale-up of green hydrogen production for a more sustainable world.”
Designed to foster dialogue and advance actionable solutions, the Green Hydrogen Summit 2025 will feature a rich format including high-level plenary sessions, fireside chats, and action-oriented working sessions and roundtables.
The 2025 Green Hydrogen Summit will build on the momentum of previous events to deepen collaboration, unlock investment opportunities, deploy sustainable finance models, and promote the coordination of global standards. The summit will be a key step in the global effort to unlock the full potential of green hydrogen to promote sustainable development.
Masdar is at the forefront of green hydrogen technology, developing power-to-X projects in the UAE and globally, while accelerating investment in green hydrogen to support the diversification of the UAE economy and the transformation of global energy systems.
Masdar aims to produce 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen or equivalent derivatives per year within a decade, and to this end, Masdar has taken a "smart first mover" approach, investing in strategic projects and building scalable platforms in key markets. Masdar is also promoting the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industries such as aviation, shipping and steel, and is developing projects to establish a reliable supply chain for green ammonia, e-methanol, SAF, e-methane and liquid hydrogen to support the transformation of the global energy system.
With support from partners including the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), EMSTEEL, Fertiglobe and BEEAH, the Green Hydrogen Summit 2025 promises to advance the global conversation on energy system transformation and drive tangible progress for a thriving green hydrogen ecosystem.
