Basic Energy Corporation has announced that its subsidiary RDG Wind Energy Corporation (RWEC) has completed its wind resource assessment for the Mabini Wind Power Project which will be built in Mabini, Batangas in the Philippines.

In a bourse filing, Basic Energy said the results of the analysis indicate excellent wind conditions for developing a wind power plant with an initial capacity of 50 megawatts, which is expected to generate approximately 250 gigawatt-hours annually. The micrositing study also showed significant potential for future capacity expansion at the site.

RWEC has obtained approval for its system impact study from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, allowing the project to proceed with plans for grid interconnection and power delivery.

It also holds an active wind energy service contract with the Department of Energy and is currently conducting feasibility studies, along with preliminary engineering and design work for the plant.

The Mabini plant is expected to be completed and commissioned by early 2028.
