Woodward, Inc. Innovates with On-Site Hydrogen Production at Stuttgart Test Center
Woodward, Inc., a leader in control and processing technologies across various industries, is now pioneering an advanced on-site hydrogen production system at its Stuttgart test center. The company has installed two Outdoor HydroCabs® from H2 Core Systems GmbH, addressing the challenge of securing a consistent and practical hydrogen supply for testing fuel cell components.
The Challenge:
Woodward's test center requires a steady supply of hydrogen to evaluate fuel cell components effectively. Relying on external hydrogen deliveries was becoming impractical due to logistical and spatial constraints. The need for hydrogen in the right quantities at the right times without delays was critical for continuous operation and testing.
The Solution:
Woodward's solution was to install two Outdoor HydroCabs® electrolyzers that produce hydrogen directly on-site. This setup not only eliminates the dependency on external hydrogen sources but also ensures that there are no interruptions in testing due to supply bottlenecks. The system supports Woodward's commitment to sustainable, flexible, and cost-efficient hydrogen production.
Sustainable Energy Supply:
With the installation of the Outdoor HydroCabs®, Woodward showcases a model for other companies aiming for a sustainable and future-proof energy supply. This approach aligns with the broader goals of the energy transition, helping reduce reliance on non-renewable energy sources and enhancing the company's operational sustainability.
