George Smith, a company that produces upholstered furniture, has collaborated with AR Power to install 392 solar panels at its Cramlington factory. The solar panels will form a 176.4 kWp system capable of generating 167,355 kWh of energy annually, which is expected to reduce the company's CO2e emissions by 37,713 kg per year. This initiative is part of George Smith's commitment to achieving a net-zero future and reducing resource consumption. In addition to the solar panels, the company has implemented various energy-saving measures at its Cramlington factory, including upgrading to energy-efficient lighting and machinery, encouraging energy-saving shutdown procedures, and using responsibly sourced materials in its designs. George Smith also has robust recycling initiatives and is continuously improving its waste management practices. Jim Athey, the UK managing director of George Smith, emphasized that sustainability is a core part of the company's vision and that partnering with AR Power enables them to take a significant step forward in reducing their carbon footprint and embracing sustainable innovation.
