Enerdrape geothermal panels installed in Margencel underground car park in France
Enerdrape, a Swiss startup, has partnered with Next Immobilier SA to deploy its geothermal panel technology in the Margencel underground car park in France. The 332 panels installed generate around 250 kWh per day and 85 MWh per year, saving approximately 348 tonnes of CO2 emissions over 20 years. The Margencel complex, which includes five mixed-use buildings with commercial space and residential units, was previously heated by gas boilers. Enerdrape's non-invasive, no-drill technology is made from recyclable materials and is quick to install, making it a modular solution compatible with modern heat pump systems. Benjamin Favre, CEO of Next Immobilier SA, said the project aligns with their strategy to reduce their carbon footprint and adopt environmentally friendly technologies. Margaux Peltier, CEO of Enerdrape, said the collaboration embodies their vision of making every underground space active in the energy transition and helps lay the foundations for multiplying these initiatives in other sites. Enerdrape and Next Immobilier SA plan to deploy this solution on other sites in their real estate portfolio, reinforcing their commitment to more sustainable and resilient buildings.
