EDP - Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) will supply 100% renewable power to Spanish government-owned air navigation manager Enaire thanks to a newly awarded contract.

Enaire said Monday the EUR-9.2-million (USD 10.4m) contract would cover the power supply in the 2019-2020 period. The Portuguese power retailer will deliver electricity to Enaire’s headquarters, all of its air traffic control centres and other facilities.

Since 2016, Enaire has been purchasing electricity produced by renewable sources, resulting in the offset of more than 50,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions into the atmosphere. The company’s climate action strategy also includes setting up solar photovoltaic (PV) installations and self-supply systems in the coming years, as well as measures to improve energy efficiency, among others.
