Changan Mazda's Nanjing plant officially launched the production of the Mazda 6e, the globalized version of the MAZDA EZ-6 model on April 2, 2025. This marks a significant milestone in their push to expand into the electric vehicle (EV) market. Simultaneously, the company unveiled its "Billion Investment, Billion Export, and Double Throughput" strategy, positioning the Nanjing facility as a new export hub for all-electric vehicles.

The launch follows Mazda's global debut at the Brussels Motor Show 2025 and their announcements to enter the European and Thai markets. With this move, Changan Mazda is fully implementing its integrated "R&D–Manufacturing–Export" global NEV ecosystem. The Nanjing plant will supply the Mazda 6e to Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond, solidifying Changan Mazda's role as a leader in the EV market.

The production launch signifies a major step forward in their commitment to developing the joint venture into Mazda's sole NEV export base in China. Collaborating with global suppliers like Bosch and CATL, Changan Mazda is building a robust supply chain to support advanced electrification systems and intelligent connectivity technologies. This strategic partnership aligns with Europe's stringent safety, intelligence, and environmental standards, ensuring the Mazda 6e meets high benchmarks.

Notably, the Mazda 6e features a impressive 350-liter airbag system with a coverage area of 25,000 square centimeters, including a far-side airbag for enhanced protection. Its steel cage structure, made of high-strength materials, provides robust passenger survival space, with components reaching up to 2000 MPa. The vehicle's design incorporates cutting-edge technology to ensure optimal stability, smooth handling, and agility on winding roads.

Changan Mazda emphasized that this launch not only marks the operational start of its NEV export center but also reflects their commitment to advancing the joint venture into Mazda's sole NEV export base in China. This collaboration highlights a new model of global resource sharing, with China's technological prowess driving Mazda's international expansion.

The unveiling of the "Billion Investment, Billion Export, and Double Throughput" strategy signals Changan Mazda's aggressive push into the joint-venture NEV sector. The plan involves an RMB 10 billion investment in NEV development and RMB 10 billion in overseas trade, aiming to double the company's overall output value and set new benchmarks in product innovation and global market reach. This strategic move underscores Changan Mazda's dedication to leading the EV market and enhancing their market presence worldwide.
