The agreement will see Celepsa receiving 450GWh of renewable electricity each year.
Under the PPA, Celepsa will receive 450 gigawatt hours (GWh) of clean electricity annually. This solar facility, alongside Zelestra’s upcoming San Martín project, strengthens the company’s growing network in Peru. Zelestra Latam CEO José Luis García commented: “This agreement reflects our firm commitment to work strategically with our customers to offer tailor-made solutions, as well as our commitment to the Peruvian market. We are proud to contribute to the reduction of carbon emissions in the country and to promote continued socio-economic development through the delivery of new projects and the creation of new jobs.” Peru remains a key focus for Zelestra’s efforts to support a shift toward sustainable energy.
For Celepsa, the agreement is a significant step in its renewable energy strategy. The company is also advancing its own clean energy projects. Celepsa general manager Eduardo Rivas said: “This agreement reinforces our commitment to the energy transition and is a strategic step that allows us to build a diversified renewable portfolio for our customers. In addition to the purchase of solar energy, the contract includes I-REC certificates, guaranteeing the renewable origin of the energy.” These certificates ensure the energy’s green credentials, aligning with Celepsa’s environmental objectives.
Zelestra views Peru as an essential market for its growth, aiming to bolster the nation’s renewable energy framework. The new solar plant will help meet rising energy needs while reducing reliance on non-renewable sources. Meanwhile, Celepsa benefits from a steady supply of solar power, enhancing its ability to serve customers sustainably.
In a separate development, Zelestra signed a contract in April 2025 with SJVN to develop a 500 MW hybrid project in Solapur, Maharashtra, India. This highlights the company’s broader efforts in renewable energy across different regions. In Peru, the Celepsa-Zelestra partnership marks a milestone in advancing clean energy solutions, fostering both environmental and economic progress.
