Blaze Manufacturing Solutions has been awarded contracts by steel company Iemants to provide fire safety systems for the Baltyk 2 and 3 offshore substations in Poland. The agreement covers the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of advanced fire alarm and suppression technologies. Blaze will oversee the project from its early design stages through to installation and ongoing maintenance, ensuring long-term reliability.

The Baltyk 2 and 3 offshore wind farms are being developed by a joint venture between Equinor and Polenergia.

Anne Johnson, Blaze’s external relations director, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are delighted to have been chosen for this important project. The Baltyk 2 and 3 wind farms represent a significant investment in renewable energy, and we are proud to contribute our expertise in fire safety to ensure their safe and efficient operation. Our team is committed to delivering comprehensive and reliable fire detection and protection solutions that meet the specific needs of these offshore substations.”

The Baltyk 2 and 3 wind farms, located in the Baltic Sea, are a joint effort by Equinor and Polenergia. These offshore facilities require robust fire safety measures to safeguard personnel and equipment in a demanding marine environment. Blaze will deploy cutting-edge systems for fire detection and suppression, designed to respond quickly and withstand harsh offshore conditions. This work is vital for the substations’ operational success and safety.

Set to begin generating power in 2027, Baltyk 2 and 3 will be among Poland’s first offshore wind farms. They are expected to significantly boost the country’s renewable energy output. Blaze’s fire safety solutions will play a key role in supporting uninterrupted energy production, enhancing the projects’ contribution to sustainable energy goals.

Greg Carnie, Blaze’s technical director, emphasized the company’s qualifications: “This demonstrates a deep understanding of the fire safety requirements and presents a compelling solution that aligns with the project goals. Our experience in the offshore wind sector and our commitment to quality and safety gave Iemants the confidence to select Blaze for this critical aspect of the project.” Blaze’s expertise ensures that the systems will meet the unique demands of the offshore substations.

By partnering with Iemants, Blaze strengthens its position in the renewable energy sector. The Baltyk 2 and 3 projects highlight the importance of reliable safety infrastructure in offshore wind development. With completion slated for 2027, these wind farms will mark a milestone in Poland’s energy transition, supported by Blaze’s tailored fire protection technologies.
