The event was hosted by the Baicheng municipal people’s government and was meant to serve as a platform for experts and scholars of China’s hydrogen energy industry to discuss the development of the sector.
Attendees included Jing Junhai, governor of Jilin province, Gan Yong, former vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Baicheng government officials, experts and scholars of China’s hydrogen energy industry, and company representatives.
Baicheng, located in northwestern Jilin province, is rich in petroleum, wind, and various mineral resources. It was one of the earliest areas of Jilin to develop wind power.
The city is currently working to boost its hydrogen energy industry, which includes the production, storage, logistics, and application of hydrogen energy, as well as research on and manufacturing of hydrogen energy equipment, hydrogen cells, and hydrogen energy automobiles. Baicheng is attempting to transform itself into the “Hydrogen Valley” of North China.
A summit forum was held during the event, at which 12 experts and scholars from universities, research institutes, and companies discussed topics such as the development of the hydrogen sector in Northeast China, the development of fuel cell automobiles, and hydrogen storage technology.
A signing ceremony was also held during the meeting, at which the Baicheng government signed cooperation agreements with several companies on hydrogen projects.
