Brazil has allowed 215 MW of solar projects owned by Italian Enel Green Power SpA (BIT:EGPW) to enter the national Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI).

The total cost of of these five photovoltaic (PV) power facilities is estimated at about BRL 653.2 million (USD 141.7m/EUR 126.2m).

The UFV Sao Goncalo 14, 15, 17, 19 and 10 solar plants, to be implemented in Sao Goncalo do Gurgueia town, Piaui state, will each have a capacity of 43.03 MW and be comprised of 24 power generating units. The cost per project after REIDI is calculated at roughly BRL 130.64 million.

According to power sector regulator Aneel, all the projects have the same execution period, starting in September 2020 and finishing in August 2021.

REIDI, launched in 2007, grants tax incentives to companies investing in infrastructure projects within the transport, energy, sanitation and irrigation sectors.
