SGRE will be supplying eight units of its SG 5.8-170 wind turbines.
Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has secured first order for its 170-meter rotor onshore turbine in Sweden.
The order was placed by Danish developer and wind turbine operator Eurowind Energy for its 46MW Knöstad project.
Siemens Gamesa Onshore CEO Alfonso Faubel said: “We are delighted to see how fast this platform is penetrating the Scandinavian market, one of the most sophisticated in the world when it comes to wind power.
“This deal also marks an extension of our strong partnership with Eurowind Energy, having worked together in the Thorup Sletten project. It is always rewarding to see customers committed to strengthening our collaboration.”
As per the terms of the contract, SGRE will be supplying eight units of its SG 5.8-170 wind turbines that will operate at a capacity of up to 6.2MW.
Additionally, the Spanish company has also signed a 25-year full-service agreement with Eurowind Energy.
SGRE intends to install wind turbines during the second half of 2021 and will have a 115-meter hub height tower.
Eurowind Energy CEO Jens Rasmussen said: “After a successful integration of the Thorup Sletten project in Denmark, the country’s largest onshore wind farm in operation, we are happy to further strengthen our relationship with Siemens Gamesa with the Knöstad project.
