Global engineering and consulting company Wood has been awarded several engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) onshore wind contracts in the US.
The EPC contracts, worth $100m, were secured from American Electric Power (AEP) Renewables for the next phase of its wind farm located in south-central Kansas.
Wood will provide EPC services to the Flat Ridge 3 wind farm, which is an extension of the Flat Ridge 1 and 2.
In Wyoming, Wood secured a contract from Black Hills Energy to support its Corriedale wind energy project.
The project is expected to supply clean energy to Black Hills Energy’s Renewable Ready programme, which has been created for its commercial and industrial customers and government agencies in South Dakota and Wyoming.
Additionally, the company has agreed to deliver four new wind farms in Oregon for Orchard Windfarms.
As part of this contract, Wood will be responsible for offloading and constructing the wind turbines, installing the associated collector system and carrying out civil and foundation work.
All these projects will see the installation of nearly 100 wind turbines and will have a capacity to generate 230MW of renewable energy.

The projects are expected to generate 400 employment opportunities will be delivered to the customers over 12 months.
