The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) released new data today, showing the good performance of Dallas-based Tri Global Energy (TGE), a wind power company, which continues to lead the renewable energy chart in the Texas state.
For the first quarter of 2020, AWEA reports 7,060MW of wind energy under construction and in advanced development, with TGE overseeing 21% of that figure, uninterrupted by the current Covid-19 crisis.
Tri Global Energy chairman and CEO John Billingsley said: “Obviously, the pandemic is the wild card and there’s not 100% certainty on all of its effects – or the timing of those effects. However, renewable energy is a long-term game and has proven and significant impact on economic development.
“Our experience and partnerships are strong, so we are optimistic that we’ll be able to execute our plan for 2020 and beyond,” he added.
TGE is currently expanding beyond Texas with projects in development in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Nebraska, and Virginia. AWEA has previously labelled the wind operator as the fifth largest developer of US wind energy in 2019.
