May 20 (Renewables Now) - Brazil's power sector regulator Aneel approved on Tuesday 319.55 MW of projects that were successful in the A-6 tender held on October 18, 2019.
Four photovoltaic (PV) schemes and one small hydropower plant (HPP) received the green light. The tender awarded power purchase agreements (PPA) to projects that will commence supply on January 1, 2025.

Previously, the watchdog okayed 85 out of the 91 winners. In all, the tender contracted more than 250.14 million MWh of power at an average price of BRL 176.09 per MWh (USD 30.6/EUR 28). Wind power was the biggest seller with 44 projects.
