21 May 2020  by Renewable Now
May 21 (Renewables Now) - Germany’s latest mixed tender for solar and wind power capacity was oversubscribed but saw no bids for wind projects, the Federal Network Agency, also known as the Bundesnetzagetur (BNetzA), said.

The tender lured 113 bids with a combined capacity of 553.17 MW, which came only from solar photovoltaic (PV) developers and significantly exceeded the targeted capacity of 200 MW.

BNetzA has awarded 30 proposals totalling 203.7 MW, while 24.3 MW of the bids were disqualified because of errors in the applications. The awarded projects will get surcharges of between EUR 0.0497 (USD 0.0545) per kWh and EUR 0.0561 per kWh. The average, volume-weighted surcharge value achieved in the tender stood at EUR 0.0533/kWh, which is higher than the EUR 0.0518/kWh average from the previous technology-specific tender in March.

The largest part of the selected projects are located in Bavaria (75.5 MW) and Saarland (40 MW). The states of Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt will host 35.3 MW and 23.9 MW of the overall capacity, respectively.

The next tender for solar and wind power capacity is scheduled for June 1, 2020.
